Wind Energy Data

As part of the Wind Energy Education project, a wind turbine was installed in Nabua. Funding was received from the Danish Government, with assistance from the French Embassy in Fiji to install a Vergnet-turbine for experimental purposes. SOPAC commissioned the turbine and thereafter, the ownership was transferred to the University of the South Pacific.

Data Logger

At the turbine, a number of parameters are measured, that influence the potential of the wind on the site. Future expansion includes power monitoring and remote readout of data. Click on the Data Logger image to view the data.

CLICK on the Instruments below (left to right):Temperature Sensor, Pyronmeter, Anemometer, Wind Vane, Humidity Sensor, to find out more about the relevance of each physical dimension to the wind energy potential.
