It is recommended that the H2S test results are considered in parallel with the results of a sanitary survey. An example of a sanitary survey form for rainwater tanks is shown below.



For example, if the lid of the rainwater tank is open and the results of the H2S test are positive on the first day, the users should be informed that a risk to health is likely, and steps must be taken to eliminate or reduce the source of contamination which is this case is covering the tank properly.
