Joint Regional Energy Meeting (REM 2004) and Pacific Islands Energy Policy and Strategic Action Plan (PIEPSAP) Consultative Meeting, Madang, Papua New Guinea from 29th November to 3rd December, 2004
The theme of the meeting was Linking Policy and Strategy with Human Resources Development, Access to Finance and Budgets.
The objectives of the meeting were to:
Update energy officials on various regional-level energy initiatives
Consult with countries on the inception and implementation of the PIEPSAP project
Consider and endorse the revised Pacific Islands Energy Policy (PIEP) and Plan.
In addition to these discussions, the ESCAP Training Needs Assesment (TNA) and the Pacific Islands Renewable Energy Project (PIREP) were also discussed.
