- Trainee/facilitator assistance was provided to 96 participants from the twenty seven villages on Ovalau whilst they built a 3D Physical model of the Island. Some 30 students and 5 teachers from the Delana Methodist High School and Levuka Public School constructed the blank model with the assistance of 15 facilitators/ trainees. P3DM integrates people’s knowledge and spatial information (contour lines) to produce stand-alone scale relief models that have proved to be user-friendly and relatively accurate data storage and analysis devices and at the same time excellent communication media.
- The Pacific Islands Regional Workshop on Aggregates Resources of Coastal and Marine Systems was convened in January 2006. Th Project made the following presentations:
- Presentation 1: River aggregate source in Pacific Island Countries
- Presentation 2: Aggregates Quality and Basic Aggregates Sample Analysis
- Presentation 3: Aggregates Mining in Pacific Island Countries
Activities in progress or ongoing..
- On-going integration of the GIS/RS datasets inside the MapServer with training of the stakeholders and re-rectification of satellite imagery for the Coral coast and updating the files online.
