Project Intervention Area: Melekeok State on Babeldoab.
Activities completed or in process..
- 1st multi-stakeholder consultations in the Republic of Palau between 14th – 21st November 2004.
- Reviewed SWATH mapping needs in Palau esp. Babeldaob & target catchment.
- From April to May 2006, Aggregates & Coastal Processes Adviser, Arthur Webb made a visit to Palau, conducting various meetings, site visits and addressing the following areas:
- Swath Mapping
- Shallow Sub tidal Dredging Melekeok State
- General assessment of coastal threats and best practice regarding coastal development.
- Determine potential of the terrestrial aggregate resource to replace dredged coral rubble
- Aggregates for road surfacing etc.
