Niue

• A comprehensive bathymetric survey around Niue was completed using RV Summer Spirit, during the first two weeks of May 2005. Initial processing and preparation of maps of Niue bathymetry was completed and preliminary data set made available to Government of Niue immediately following the survey.
• Processing, analysis and development of bathymetric data is in process.
• Deliver bathymetric products is underway.
• The Project is providing co-funding for a consultancy in the Water sector, which during September or October will assist with further hydrogeological investigation and monitoring of Niue’s groundwater resources.
• Tropical Cyclone Heta Wave modelling on W coastal zones.
• Identification of coastal hazard zones & policy development .
• The 1st MSC in Niue (even though previous interventions had been delivered upon) was undertaken by Project staff between 04th June and 14th June 2005, to ensure country ownership and finalisation of the Niue Work Plan for the Project.
